Maximum Ride: The Angel Experiment - review

The task list for today is already checked off? Have you done everything as you planned and you have a moment for yourself? I hope so, because the book I am going to write about will make you forget about the whole world for long hours. Do you like mysterious stories, full of surprises action-packed novels? For sure, you will be spellbound by one of them: "Maximum Ride: The Angel Experiment" written by a prominent writer James Patterson.

This fascinating book introduces us to the world of six extraordinary children that cannot be called fully human beings. Eponymous Maximum Ride, Fang, Iggy, Nudge, The Gasman (Gazzy) and Angel is a group of children who were born and raised in the "School", which in fact was a secret lab run by mad scientists. Early in their embryonic phase of growth their DNA was implanted with genes derived from the birds. As a result, apart from their human appearance they all gained a pair of strong wings. The cherry on top is that each character was also equipped with a super-hero unique ability. For instance, Angela is able to read minds, while Iggy is blind, but it is characterized by excellent hearing. Maximum, known as Max for short, is the 14-year-old avian-human hybrid and a leader of the 'flock'.

The story begins when Erasers (genetically mutated humans capable of escalating into a half man - half wolf) discover a safe hideout where the heroes were hiding after they had escaped from the lab. As a result of clashes with Erasers the youngest member of the group is kidnapped. Eponymous character - Maximum Ride - decides to rescue a friend. The whole novel is the story of a rescue expedition and finding your own destiny. The storyline is full of twists and the reader is surprised at how fate gets in Max and her friends’ way.
This book is clearly written and well-presented so reading it is a pleasure. However, by reading books by James Patterson we experience not only entertainment, but also we find out how important values such as courage, heroism, trust and friendship are, which are underlined in this novel.  The book also makes us think in which direction the modern world goes and whether the scientific development is always good.

To my mind, this book is incredible. I was captivated by this story and I could not break away from it, because I love this gorgeous story written in a really unputdownable and excellent style.  My view really isn’t fanciful due to the fact that this fantastic read was the number one New York Times bestsellers list for a long time.
This book is one of the most cherished fantastic novels among young people in America and the whole world - including Poland where it also became a hit.

The great novel "Maximum Ride: The Angel Experiment" has its continuation: "Maximum Ride: School's Out Forever", "Maximum Ride: Saving the World and Other Extreme Sports" and "Maximum Ride: The Final Warning." So if you fancy a dose of fascinating reading, run to the bookstore!

I wonder if in the constantly evolving world of progress, young people reading the book will support Max and the others? I hope not, but then everything is possible.
