„National Reading”
This national campaign started in 2012 and was initiated by a former president of Poland – Bronislaw Komorowski. The Head of State wanted to popularize the fundamental Polish literature and encourage reading ‘Pan Tadeusz’ written by the famous Polish writer Adam Mickiewicz. This way a national cycle of meetings aimed at joint reading of the most famous Polish literature has started. The following years, some other authors have been added such as Aleksander Fredro, Henryk Sienkiewicz and Boleslaw Prus.
The initiative „National Reading” has become extremely popular – every year new towns and cities join the action. The stories from the literature can be heard not only in public libraries but also on the city squares and other places. Reading together is an ideal opportunity to foster a sense of a national unity for the Polish people. As such it would strengthen our pride and bring generations together in an unusual way - this action is a great alternative for the whole family to spend time together.
This year our school also took part in this venture by joint reading of “Lalka” written by Boleslaw Prus (you can read about it on our website http://zsokluczbork.pl/web.n4?go=10).
